Sir Jim Ratcliffe told what he doesn't want to hear as four Manchester United players slammed

Paul Merson slammed Manchester United following their 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham - pinpointing four stars for criticism.

Alex Iwobi netted a 96th-minute winner to earn the Cottagers just their second win at Old Trafford since 1963. Fulham defender Calvin Bassey put the London club in front in the second-half before Harry Maguire equalised late on, however, the visitors snatched it late on.

The defeat on Saturday was a 15th in all competitions for Erik ten Hag's side after they failed to cut the gap to Tottenham Hotspur in the race for European football. Next time out in the Premier League, United make the short journey across Manchester to face rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, plus a chance to bounce back in the FA Cup against FA Cup on Wednesday.

It has been a momentous week for United after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's minority takeover was completed. The Ineos chief spoke defiantly this week as he begins the bid for the club to establish themselves back at the summit of English football.

However, Merson took aim following their 2-1 defeat to Fulham and criticised a number of players. He said: "Man Utd were shocking. I'm not exaggerating. Absolutely shocking.

"How they think they can get in the top four… What's the point in getting in the top four anyway? They're not going to win the Champions League, so what's the point in being in it?

"I thought Fulham did very well. They grew into the game and it was comfortable. They absolutely dominated the first half. They thoroughly deserved to win. It wasn't a smash and
