Sir Jim Ratcliffe must offload 12 Manchester United loanees this summer

With just five games standing between Manchester United and the finish line of the 2023/24 season, focus will soon switch to the summer transfer window.

Following Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival on the scene, a summer of change is in the offing at Old Trafford. United are planning for a record number of sales, new additions are required and uncertainty surrounds Erik ten Hag's future.

To say there is an element of intrigue is an understatement. This summer could be one of the most fascinating in United's history.

Most people associated with United, in their minds, have a list of players who they believe need offloading. Getting some of them off the books, however, will be an easier said than done challenge.

As this season approaches its conclusion, United currently have 12 players out on loan. With that in mind, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what the future may hold for each.

Radek Vitek

Goalkeeper Vitek left Old Trafford on a temporary basis in January, joining League Two side Accrington Stanley for the remainder of the season. Racking up 18 appearances in total, he kept four clean sheets in what was his first experience of senior football.

Under contract until 2027, it would make sense for United to monitor the 20-year-old's development before making a decision on his long-term future. Another loan spell, perhaps higher up the English football pyramid, could be the most sensible next step.
