Sir Alex Ferguson's brilliant message to Jurgen Klopp in 2020 showed how much he respects him

The Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool certainly has been a special time for the club.

The enigmatic German took over one of Europe’s great sleeping giants in late 2015 and has methodically – alongside splashes of mad genius – revolutionised the club.

It took the former Borussia Dortmund boss just seconds to endear himself to the Liverpool faithful in his first press conference, sparking a fierce love affair with the multitudes on the Anfield terraces that continues to this day.

He built a team unlike anything that Liverpool has seen in a generation, turning the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander Arnold into global superstars.

He won the European Cup, ended a painful 30-year Premier League drought and is far from done.

While there is still plenty of script to be written on his time in front of the Kop, Klopp achieved priority one when he claimed domestic glory with the Reds.

That title win in 2020 saw him heaped with praise from all quarters, but there was one garland that stood out above the rest.

After he was named LMA Manager of the Year for 2020, Klopp received a smashing personal message form none other than Sir Alex Ferguson.

Now keep in mind that Ferguson dedicated his entire career to knocking Liverpool ‘off their perch’ so, for him to speak of their now manager in such glowing terms, just showed the level of respect he has for the German.
