Simon Jordan obliterates Brendan Rodgers and tells Celtic boss he should LEAVE rather than take board potshots

Simon Jordan has told Brendan Rodgers he should LEAVE Celtic if he's unhappy with how the board are conducting transfer business.

The Hoops boss sent a clear message to the Parkhead hierarchy following Sunday's 3-0 win at St Mirren, declaring the fans deserved to see their club splash the cash and that hoarding it to build the pot is of no use if they want to compete in the Champions League. It's not the first time this window, nor since his return to Glasgow far less during his first spell, that Rodgers has publicly made his feelings clear on the transfer strategy.

Since the weekend, Celtic have sold Matt O'Riley to Brighton for a Scottish record transfer fee of north of £25million, and as Record Sport exclusively revealed, are attempting to tempt Sheffield United to sell Auston trusty with £5m of that money. More arrivals are expected for this week before the window closes on Friday night.

But talkSPORT co-host Jordan has questioned what has been said privately between Rodgers and the board. He's accused the Irishman of taking all the credit for the self-proclaimed "good place" the team is in and, if the board aren't holding up their end of the bargain in terms of transfers, then he should walk away.

"There is a balance between suggesting that more needs done and going off-piste because he thinks he's a bit clever and start bringing up other aspects of how the fanbase during Covid decide to not ask for reimbursements for their season tickets," said Jordan.
