Simeone, Guardiola, Klopp: Who are the highest-paid managers in Europe?

The Premier League is home to some of the best managers in the world right now.

Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel have all established themselves among the world’s best in the past few years.

But how much are they paid by their clubs? And how do their salaries compare to Europe’s best managers?

L’Equipe have crunched the numbers and named the three highest-paid managers in each of Europe’s top five leagues.

View their findings below… (The figures are how much they earn per-month in gross pay)

PREMIER LEAGUE

Guardiola is comfortably the Premier League’s highest-paid manager.

Man City’s boss earns just under €2 million-per-month. Not too shabby.

Klopp and Conte are tied second with both earning the same amount of money.

Tuchel and Mikel Arteta both miss out on the top three.

LA LIGA

Diego Simeone’s salary is quite astonishing. He earns €3.33m-per-month, making him the highest-paid manager in Europe’s top five leagues by some distance.

In fact, he earns nearly as much as Klopp and Guardiola combined.

Carlo Ancelotti also makes the top three but there is no room for Barcelona boss, Xavi.

SERIE A

Mourinho is only the second highest-paid manager in Italy’s top tier.

The Portuguese legend is paid less than Max Allegri, who returned to Juventus last summer.

Simeone Inzaghi rounds out the top three.

BUNDESLIGA

Bayern Munich paid Julian Nagelsmann handsomely to prize him away from RB Leipzig last summer.

His monthly salary of €666,000-per-month is still much less than some of Europe’s top managers.

LIGUE 1

It’s no surprise that Pochettino is comfortably the highest-paid manager in Ligue 1.

The Argentine is paid €1.1 million-per-month, which is €800,000-per-month more than the salaries of Jorge Sampaoli and Christophe
