Silverstone GP: McLaren's Daniel Ricciardo smacked Lando Norris in the face with a space-hopper

A space hopper race between McLaren drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris ended in drama as the pair threw the rule book out the window.

The two are currently preparing for this weekend’s British Grand Prix but they took time out from their busy schedule to take part in the light-hearted race.

In the car, the pair have not been enjoying as much success as they would have hoped recently as they have been struggling to keep up with their rival teams.

They both finished outside the points at the most recent Grand Prix in Canada which led to frustrations from both of the drivers.

Ricciardo finished in 11th place and Norris could only muster up a 15th position finish – but despite that McLaren still sit fourth in the constructor’s championship.

Speaking ahead of his home Grand Prix, Norris revealed how motivated he is to improve this weekend.

It started well for the Australian Ricciardo as Norris slipped as the space hopper race got underway.

Ricciardo could sense victory but his team-mate had other ideas and Norris was not about to let the race slip without a fight.

Danny Ric got real dirty, oh
