Silent Hill 2: Iconic horror game could be set for next-generation remake
Silent Hill 2 is one of the most iconic horror games of all time and it could now be in line for a modern day remake on next generation consoles, according to a new rumour.
The report comes from Nate the Hate, via Eurogamer, and has been corroborated by Jeff Grubb, the noted insider at VentureBeat.
Silent Hill 2 was initially released in 2001, and was initially released on PlayStation 2.
It is perhaps one of the most well-received horror games in history, featuring the iconic Pyramid Head, and receiving a 9/10 score from IGN when it first hit shelves.
Grubb has reported, in a tweet, that the game is set to be a PlayStation exclusive and will feature a number of reworked elements.
The puzzles are set to be reworked, while there could also be new endings added to the game that players will be able to unlock.
However, that is not the only news.
Grubb’s tweet is as part of a quote retweet from NateTheHate2.

He claims that there are “multiple” Silent Hill games in development at this stage, including a new “mainline” entry that is likely to have a completely separate story, while there are also set to be “side stories” added, but it remains to be seen if they are in separate games.
There was reportedly concept art leaked last week that came from what was alleged to be a new Silent Hill game.
The concept art shows images of a woman’s face made of post-it notes and insults, and there has been speculation that the game is set to take place in Britain.
Bloober Team are currently said to be working on the remake and have previously developed Layers of Fear (2016), Observer (2017), Blair Witch (2019) and The Medium (2021).
It remains to be seen when
