Significant Derby County update shared ahead of potential takeover

Derby County’s administrators are aiming to have a preferred bidder named by the end of the week as they finally look to bring in a new owner.

The off-field issues the Rams have are well-documented, with the club having entered administration back in September and despite plenty of interest in the Championship outfit, they have been unable to reach an agreement with a new owner.

However, in a positive development, reporter Nigel Slater revealed today how there is a hope that the club can take a significant step towards bringing in a new owner in the coming days.

“Quantuma confirmed there are multiple bids and expressions of interest and are now in final stages of clarification. Quantuma believe they will be in a position to select a preferred bidder by end of this week.”

Of course, the Rams support have heard this before so they will not get carried away until something is finalised.

Wayne Rooney’s side are currently bottom of the Championship having been hit with a 21-point deduction, meaning they are eight points from safety with seven games to play.

This is obviously a positive for Derby in the sense that the administrators have confirmed there is still plenty of interest in the club and they could name a preferred bidder swiftly.
