Shotts Bon Accord make triple signing as 'giants' bolster backline

Shotts Bon Accord boss John McKeown has strengthened his side for next season with three fresh faces arriving at Hannah Park

Defender Eachinn Miller has joined from Lowland League Caledonian Braves, while under-21 midfielder Olly Tobin and Blane McDaid also come into the side.

Miller and Tobin will both bring a towering presence to the squad, while McDaid arrives after a trial stint towards the end of last term.

McKeown said: “The three we have so far are exciting and we’ve got others in the pipeline.

“Eachinn looks after himself, he’s got a great physique about him and he’s tall and aggressive, which is what we are looking for.

“He can cover the grass well and play a bit as well so he’s got a bit of everything. He brings good experience from playing in the Highland League with Clachnacuddin and then Caley Braves in the Lowland League last season, so it’s an exciting addition for us.

“We’ve brought in a couple of lads from under-21 football as well.

“Olly Tobin is a centre-half/midfielder at 6ft 4 so he’s another giant and there’s also the midfielder Blane McDaid.

“He is talented, keeps the ball very well and played as a trialist for us last season and did very well.

“I’m happy with what we’ve brought in so far.”

Shotts also have their pre-season schedule booked, kicking off on July 2 away to Cambuslang.

The rest of their fixtures are as follows:

Newmains on July 6 (venue TBC), Fauldhouse away on July 9, Clydebank away on July 12, Pollok at home on July 16, Stoneyburn at home on July 19 and Carluke away on July 23.

• Meanwhile, the club is looking for sponsorship for next season.
