Shota Arveladze issues message to Hull City supporters following Fulham defeat

Hull City boss Shota Arveladze believes his side didn’t deserve to lose yesterday’s clash with title favourites Fulham, taking to Twitter to express his thoughts on the game and thank the fans for their support at the MKM Stadium.

The Tigers went in at half-time level with the Cottagers – and were perhaps lucky not to be behind at the interval with Harry Wilson having two chances to put the visitors ahead, though the hosts did have their own notable effort on goal through Keane Lewis-Potter.

However, it was the west London outfit that made the all-important breakthrough in the 57th minute when Aleksandar Mitrovic met Neco Williams’ inviting cross to record his 31st league goal of the 2021/22 campaign.

Unfortunately for Arveladze’s men, they were unable to respond after that and suffered their third league defeat in a row, though their yesterday’s performance was much more respectable than their display against Derby County in midweek.

However, that was to no avail for a side that have won just three points from a possible 12 in their opening four league games under their new boss, a disappointment considering they had won against high-flyers Blackburn Rovers and AFC Bournemouth shortly before Grant McCann’s dismissal.

Their new boss believes they were unlucky not to win at least a point from this weekend’s encounter in East Yorkshire though.

Posting on Twitter last night, the Georgian said: “Disappointed with the result against a strongest team in the league.

“I don’t think we deserved to lose the game. We must work hard to improve.

“The fans were amazing again. Thanks for your support Tigers!”
