Shocking moment teacher appears to throw student out of classroom and onto floor

This shocking video footage appeared to show the moment a teacher at a Stockport school allegedly pushed a student out of a classroom and onto the floor.

The clip was filmed inside a classroom at Harrytown Catholic High School in Romiley. The incident reportedly happened last week, with the footage of it then shared widely on social media and with the Manchester Evening News.

The clip appeared to show a teacher and pupil in the doorway of a classroom. The teacher then appeared to push the pupil in the doorway.

Both then appeared to struggle, before the teacher then appeared to push the student again with some force. Stockport Council said bosses in the schools department are 'aware of the incident' at the secondary school.

The town hall is 'following all appropriate due processes'. A spokesperson for Harrytown said the school had nothing to add further to the statement issued by the local authority.

Tim Bowman, Interim Director of Children’s Services and Director of Education, Work and Skills at Stockport Council, said: "We are aware of an incident that took place at the school and we are following all appropriate due processes. We cannot comment further at this time."

Harrytown - a voluntary aided Catholic comprehensive school for children aged 11-16 - was rated as 'Good' by Ofsted in June 2019.
