Sheffield Wednesday squad revealed for Bolton Wanderers as versatile pair return

There will be a minimum of one new face in the Sheffield Wednesday matchday squad when the Owls take on Bolton Wanderers this afternoon. Dutch forward Sylla Sow is ruled out after picking up a minor knock in training this week.

Sow was an unused substitute in the 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon last time out. He has figured 13 times in League One during during the 2021/22 campaign.

"We think he will be alright for the next game," said Wednesday boss Darren Moore. "It is an injury that he has sustained in training and we think if we can leave him for two or three more days that it will settle down and can join back up with the squad.

"We will see after the weekend. He has not trained since the early part of the week so we have taken him out of the squad."

Defensive duo Liam Palmer and Jordan Storey are in contention to be involved. The duo have played in various positions this term. Storey could get the nod over Dominic Iorfa in defence.

Today's clash comes too soon for Lewis Gibson and Dennis Adeniran. The pair have resumed full training following injury lay-offs. Josh Windass (hamstring) and Arsenal youngster Tyreece John-Jules remain on the sidelines.

Moore said: "He is making some wonderful progress but is still not quite back with us. While ever the season is still very much alive, we continue to monitor him.

"I would say it could be another couple of weeks before we see him back with us. He is somebody that we know - a bit like Josh - that will be available at the back end of the season."
