Joe Wildsmith is leaving Sheffield Wednesday. Yorkshire Live understands the goalkeeper has turned down the Owls' contract offer and will move on to pastures new this summer.
Wildsmith's impending exit leaves David Stockdale and Cameron Dawson as Wednesday's goalkeeping options going into the 2022/23 season. Yorkshire-born Stockdale completed his free transfer move to the League One club yesterday.
Wildsmith, who came through the ranks at Hillsborough, made his Owls debut in the League Cup against Mansfield Town in 2015 under Carlos Carvalhal. He went on to make a total of 14 appearances as Wednesday made it through to the Championship play-off final.

A lifelong Wednesdayite, Wildsmith has been in and out of the starting XI in recent years. He departs his hometown club, having played 89 times across all competitions. Wildsmith, who will leave at the end of June, recorded 27 clean sheets.
The 26-year-old largely played second fiddle to Northern Ireland international Bailey Peacock-Farrell last term. He only started three league matches.
Wildsmith featured five times in the cup competitions. His final Owls outing came in their 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Hartlepool United in the Papa John's Trophy last December.
It is still unclear whether Wednesday will tie down Jack Hunt, Massimo Luongo and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing to new contracts. Like Wildsmith, the trio were also offered new deals following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season.
