Sheffield United told Steve Cooper's approach as Nottingham Forest face huge selection setback

Sheffield United entertain Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their play-off semi-final looking to take an advantage to the City Ground next week. The fixture is a mouth-watering one and really close to call with both matches during the season ending in 1-1 draws.

If the first leg at Bramall Lane is anything like the last time these two sides met here in a play-off semi-final back in 2003, we are in for a real treat. When Forest visited earlier in the season striker Keinan Davis was a handful for the United defence, but Steve Cooper could be without the Aston Villa loanee, who has been absent with a hamstring injury.

To get the lowdown on United's opponent, we spoke to Forest reporter Sarah Clapson, from Yorkshire Live's sister site Nottinghamshire Live, and she says the Forest boss will come with a very positive approach.

"Forest were really keen not to take any risks for the game against Hull, so quite a few regulars missed out. There's still a few doubts about some of them, particularly Ryan Yates (shoulder) and Jack Colback (groin). Steve Cook suffered a gash on the head at Bournemouth and missed out against the Tigers because of that, as well as for personal reasons as his dad suffered a cardiac arrest before the game on the south coast.

"Lewis Grabban (hamstring) and Max Lowe (groin) are still sidelined, although obviously the latter wouldn't be available for this one anyway. Keinan Davis has also been absent with a hamstring problem, with the timeline for recovery very tight as to whether he'd be involved in the play-offs. Steve Cooper has said he wasn't planning on him being available for these games."
