Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom highlights what Rhian Brewster must do to score more goals
Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom says striker Rhian Brewster needs to be 'explosive' in order to score more goals.
The striker found the back of the net in the Blades' 3-2 defeat to National League side Scunthorpe United, heading home George Baldock's cross. Iliman Ndiaye also scored in the defeat.
22-year-old Brewster has scored three goals during pre-season, bagging a brace in Sheffield United's 4-0 win over Lincoln City. The former Liverpool striker scored three goals in 14 Championship appearances for the Blades last season, missing the final few months of the season with a hamstring injury.
"We're pleased," Heckingbottom told sufc.co.uk when asked about Brewster's form. "We took him out of the firing line at the end of last week, in terms of training, both him and Sander (Berge), with the plan of building them up to some minutes here and then even more on Tuesday.
"It's another step in his return - definitely. We just want him to be sharp, and to be what he is in and around the box and getting goals.
"Just be explosive. That's what we need him to do and that's how he'll score more goals."
