Sheffield United announce end of season retained list following play-off semi final exit

Sheffield United have announced their full retained list following the completion of the 21/22 campaign. The Blades have confirmed Angelo Cappell, Harvey Cullinan, Luke Freeman, David McGoldrick, Lys Mousset and Filip Uremovic will all depart on free transfers.

Paul Heckingbottom had also previously confirmed the club's plans to offer deals to Jack Robinson and Ben Osborn following extension clauses, with Harry Boyes and Kyron Gordon's options triggered too.

Furthermore, Billy Sharp and Chris Basham will remain at the club after penning new deals, with another eight players offered new contracts in Leo Gaxha, Jake Eastwood, Thomas Angell, Callum Hiddleston, Louie Marsh, Josh Smith and Luther Williams, as well as back-up goalkeeper Adam Davies who joined the club from Stoke City in January.

With a major restructure confirmed by the club earlier this year due to the nature of the clubs new 'development plan', it comes as no surprise following relegation from the Premier League just last year. Beau Anderson, Tyrese Bailey-Green and Ethan Slater have also been confirmed to have been released by United.
