Shaun Ryder to play first solo gig in 11 years for mental health charity Mind

Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder is to play a special solo show for the first time in 11 years in aid of mental health charity Mind. Madchester legend Shaun will perform with a live band on stage at Manchester's Factory 251 club on Friday night, October 7.

The location will take Shaun back to where it all began - at the venue which was was famously once home to Manchester's Factory Records, the label which first launched Happy Mondays onto the music scene back in the 1980s. The upcoming gig will be a chance for fans to hear Shaun's solo work from last year's Visits From Future Technology as well as a "few select surprises".

The show will also have a very special guest DJ set from Creation Records founder, and the man who first signed Oasis, Alan McGee.

All proceeds from the show will be donated to the mental health charity Mind. The charity provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, and campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote
