Sharks dominate Griquas to consolidate 3rd spot in Currie Cup

The Sharks consolidated third position on the Currie Cup standings with a comprehensive 24-6 (half-time 14-6) win over Griquas in Durban on Saturday.

The hosts ran in three tries via centre Alwayno Visagie, hooker Kerron van Vuuren, and scrumhalf Bradley Davids.

The Sharks (3rd) and Griquas (4th) entered the contest level on 19 log points, but the Durbanites were ahead due to a better points difference.

The Sharks are now on 23 points with five wins from eight matches - five points behind the second-placed Pumas.

Griquas, meanwhile, lie fourth with four wins from eight matches (19 points). But the men from Kimberley could slip outside the top four as WP (16 points) and the Bulls (17 points) duel in Cape Town later on Saturday (18:30.
