Shane McGrath questions Tipp effort in heavy defeat to Cork

Former Tipperary star Shane McGrath was critical of the lack of intensity the Premier County displayed in Sunday's drubbing by Cork at Semple Stadium, particularly in the second half of the Munster SHC encounter, and foresees a rebuilding job on the horizon.

Cork led by just three points at the interval, but overwhelmed the hosts in the second half, running out convincing victors on a 4-30 to 1-21 scoreline.

Tipperary now face Clare at the same venue on Sunday with nothing to play for but pride.

Speaking on the RTÉ GAA Podcast, McGrath said: "I was on the radio and it’s so hard to talk about when it’s your own county involved.

"It was the manner of the defeat. I’ve played matches where you’re opening a field for a GAA club with two inter-county teams, and the last 10 or 15 minutes of some of those games was probably more intense than what we watched in Thurles.
