Shamrock Rovers submit shock £15 million bid for Alfredo Morelos

In breaking news – Record sport can confirm today in a shock report – that Shamrock Rovers of the Airtricity Premier League in Ireland – have submitted a £15 million bid to secure the services of Alfredo Morelos.

The club, like it’s Scottish counterpart Celtic, is part owned by Irish Billionaire, Dermot Desmond.

Despite many reports in the recent past that a host of big clubs have bid for Morelos, we can confirm that this bid is the real deal.

It is also believed that Michael O’Leary of Ryanair, has agreed to fund part of the deal in return for a controlling interest in the Irish Club.

There has never been a bid of this size or nature from the Irish Premier League, but Record sport understands that Dermot Desmond is confident of securing the Colombian striker’s signature.

When R*****s (sic) were approached for comment on the bid, a source confirmed they were seriously considering it and that it was, “the first concrete bid received for Morelos since we turned down a bid from an un-named Chinese club back in 2017”.

When asked if they had any issue with selling Morelos to an Irish club, part owned by Dermot Desmond, the source responded:

“In this day and age, you cannot pick and choose who you sell players to. If a solid bid comes in and meets our valuation of the player, regardless of the club making the bid, then we have to take it seriously.”

Morelos himself was unavailable for comment as he is still in Colombia on holiday while undergoing rehab on thigh surgery.

Record sport can also confirm that in light of being made exempt from the Cinch sponsorship deal, R*****s (sic) are now in negotiations with Ryanair with a view to the airline becoming their main sponsor.
