If the summer transfer window teaches you anything it is that Manchester United will always be linked with hundreds of players.

Whether it is as a result of players pushing for a move or agents putting their clients' names out there in the hope of generating interest, a new name crops up every single day as far as United are concerned - and it was no different throughout the summer.

United ended the window having brought in five new faces, but it would have run into the hundreds had every transfer rumour posted online been believed. With that said, MEN Sport has had a look at how five players who were often linked with United throughout the summer have started this season, either at a new club or at the club the Reds were linked with buying them off.
