Seth Rollins references Cody Rhodes WWE return on Raw
Seth Rollins referenced the rumours of Cody Rhodes rejoining WWE on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Over the last few weeks, there have been several back-and-forth reports regarding the WWE status of Cody Rhodes.
After leaving AEW, it was reported that Rhodes was in talks with WWE, with it now being reported that he’s agreed to rejoin the company.
In fact, a report over the weekend suggested that Rhodes had actually signed a contract with WWE, meaning all that’s left for him to do is appear on TV.
Seth Rollins is still looking for a match at WrestleMania, and reports suggest he’ll be facing Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
During his segment on WWE Raw last night, Seth Rollins was met with chants of “Cody” from the live crowd, which he responded to.
On the show, Rollins responded to the chants in the opening line of his promo, having the following to say:
“Rumors are a lot of fun, but rumors don’t make moments and I am living for my WrestleMania moment.”
WWE, without exactly saying it, as pretty much confirmed that Cody Rhodes will be Seth Rollins’ opponent on the show.
Rhodes is not expected to actually appear until WrestleMania itself, although some suspect he’ll be on the go-home episode of WWE Raw next week.
The match is one fans are looking forward to, given it’ll be Rhodes’ first in a WWE ring since 2016, and it’ll be at the biggest show of the year.
