"Set the tone" - Insider drops Erik ten Hag transfer claim at Man Utd involving 397 G/A star

Manchester United could look to sign Dusan Tadic as he would ‘set the tone’ while incoming boss Erik ten Hag implements his philosophy at Old Trafford, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

There is set to be a change in the dugout ahead of next season, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick due to shift into a consultancy role when the current campaign reaches its climax.

According to The Athletic, ten Hag is on the brink of being appointed as Manchester United’s next boss after reaching an agreement in principle with the Red Devils.

The report suggests ten Hag, who is currently at the helm of Eredivisie giants Ajax, is set to pen a contract which will run for up to four years.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed the Dutchman will not be unveiled as Rangnick’s long-term successor until a £1.6million compensation clause has been agreed between Manchester United and Ajax.

Tadic, who left Southampton for Ajax in a £10million deal close to four years ago, is clearly a huge admirer of ten Hag ahead of his switch to Old Trafford.

When speaking about his current boss, Tadic claimed ten Hag is ‘one of the best in the world’ and ‘it is a pleasure to work with him’.

Jones has suggested ten Hag could look to be reunited with Tadic at Old Trafford as he looks to stamp his authority on the Manchester United squad.

While the transfer insider fears Tadic’s best days may be behind him, he feels the 33-year-old winger’s arrival could be pivotal in ten Hag being an immediate success in the Premier League.
