Sergio Rico: Paris Saint-Germain keeper hospitalised and in serious condition after fall while horse riding in Spain

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico was hospitalised on Sunday morning following a bad fall during a horse riding accident. The Spaniard had returned to his home town of Seville following last night's Ligue 1 title-winning draw with Strasbourg, a match during which Rico remained on the substitutes' bench.

Ad Spanish media, including COPE, AS, and Marca, reported that Rico was in a serious condition. Cadena Ser reported that Rico was not conscious, while all sources indicated that medical examinations are ongoing.

While some sources indicated that Rico was struck on the head or neck during the fall, that has not yet been confirmed.

After reports of his hospitalisation became public, both PSG and Rico's former club Sevilla posted confirmations online. PSG's statement read: «Paris Saint-Germain learned of the accident involving its player Sergio Rico on Sunday and remains in constant contact with his loved ones.
