Sergio Aguero makes shock Manchester United admission regarding Man City title challengers

Sergio Aguero insists Manchester United are one of the 'biggest threats' to Manchester City's push for a fourth straight Premier League title.

City are aiming to make history by becoming the first team to claim four straight titles, which would also see Pep Guardiola take home a sixth winners medal in seven years. But a run of just one win in six has seen them drop into fourth and the Blues could be 11 points off Arsenal by Christmas.

United are even further behind, having already lost seven league games. But they battled hard to take an unlikely point from Anfield on Sunday and Aguero has warned that Erik ten Hag's men could still be serious contenders.

"You can never sleep on Man United at this stage of the season," Aguero told Stake.com. "They are one of the biggest threats to Man City’s Premier League title.

"I also think Tottenham are title contenders, who have improved a lot under Ange Postecoglou. Even despite their ups and downs, Newcastle are also in with a chance of the title as they always put up a fight."

City's recent run has seen them register their lowest points tally after 17 games under Guardiola, failing to win at home for three consecutive matches since 2016. The Blues have been unable to kill games off in recent weeks and threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

United's point at Anfield was just their second on the road against top-nine opposition since Ten Hag took over. They currently sit seventh in the Premier League, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.
