Sergio Aguero confirms talks over future role with Man City after retirement
Sergio Aguero has confirmed he is in talks for future roles with Manchester City and the Argentina national team following his retirement from football last year.
Aguero is City's all-time record goal-scorer, but left the Etihad last summer before joining Barcelona.
His time at the Nou Camp was ended prematurely after he suffered heart problems in a game in October, and was then advised to retire.
Now pursuing a career with his eSports company, Aguero has spoken about his future to Argentine media, where he has confirmed he intends to take ambassadorial roles with City and Argentina, as well as joining the Argentine coaching staff for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in some capacity.
Responding to reports that he would begin training with boyhood club Independiente in June, Aguero told TyC Sports : "I had seen the news saying that I would return in June to train with Independiente.
"I said that I did not know who was running for the elections, that they should not lie to the people and that they should not campaign with me.
"It was only so that they do not confuse people and that they understand that it was something totally untrue. I was born and I love Independiente, but today I have no plans to do things for any club.
"With Manchester City we are looking to go to three or four annual events. I'm looking for something similar with the Argentine national team.
"This goes to all the fans of Independiente. Do not believe anything they say, the truth is that some half-carlonchos have raised, who are saying that I would start training in Independiente in June, I do not know what the hell… I ask the people who are in the club (Independiente) not to campaign with me. Posta I tell them. Do not campaign with me, do not bother
