Sean Longstaff: Newcastle man wore microphone during training
Newcastle United have been in tremendous form over the past few months.
Eddie Howe’s side looked to be in danger of relegation at the turn of the year.
But a series of impressive results have propelled them to 14th and nine points clear of the drop-zone.
Newcastle have spent the past few weeks training in Dubai during the international break.
Sean Longstaff, who came through the club’s academy, wasn’t called up for England duty and thus trained with the squad as normal.
Newcastle thought it would be a good idea for him to wear a microphone during one of their training sessions.
And the footage is gold. During the training session, Longstaff compares Matt Ritchie to Marcelo, complains he’s still half-asleep and sings Dwight Gayle’s song.
Longstaff also struggles with suncream getting in his eyes and charges around the pitch with limited vision.
