Sean Dyche to use Manchester United defeat to Burnley's advantage

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is calling on his players' experience of already having faced Manchester United this season to help them in their attempts of securing all three points on Tuesday evening at Turf Moor.

The Clarets, who will enter the contest rock-bottom of the Premier League table with just one win to their name all season, were beaten 3-1 by United at Old Trafford back in December.

Despite finding themselves 3-0 down by the time Aaron Lennon pulled a goal back just seven minutes before half-time, the Clarets certainly gave United one or two scares in the second half as they threatened to stage a surprise comeback.

Dyche's side have experienced a season to forget so far, winning just one of their opening 19 league matches, meaning they are in real danger of seeing their six-year stay in the Premier League come to an end this term.

Nevertheless, although Dyche is aware of the talent his players will be up against, the Burnley chief has reflected positively on his side's efforts at Old Trafford just over a month ago, suggesting that he wants them to use that to their advantage on Tuesday night.

"They have some very big players with quality," Dyche said during his pre-match press conference, as quoted by LancsLive. "There is noise around the club at the moment but we have to take on the reality.

"I thought we performed we pretty well at their place, statistically it was one of our better performances, certainly in terms of chances created."

Although Dyche knows the magnitude of the contest concerning United's visit, as they look to step up their fight to avoid the drop, Burnley's home record against the Reds in the Premier League does not bode well.
