Scottish Grand National 2024 results in FULL including 1-2-3-4 as Macdermott edges thrilling Ayr showpiece

Punters have been treated to a magnificent day on one of the biggest fixtures on the racing calendar as crowds turned up at Ayr in their thousands for the Scottish Grand National.

A sell-out crowd headed to the West coast track to catch all the action and they saw Macdermott take the big race at 18/1 for Willie Mullins. Mullins - who also won the Grand National at Aintree last week - is now odds-on to become just the second Irish trainer to claim the UK jumps championship 70 years after Vincent O’Brien secured the prize for a second time.

It was Ireland's first winner in the race since 1869. Tommy's Oscar took the opener at 15/2 before Sharjah turned in an impressive display to claim the second at odds of 7/1. Favour And Fortune took the Scottish Champion Hurdle at 5/1. Here are all the results on Saturday afternoon...
