Scott Parker makes 'a lot of doubt' Birmingham City admission after FA Cup humiliation

Scott Parker admits Bournemouth’s shock FA Cup defeat to Boreham Wood will have generated doubts among the club’s supporters.

The Cherries were humbled by a first half goal from the non-league outfit, prompting a few social media calls for Parker’s dismissal – despite the fact his team have two games in hand and trail second placed Blackburn by just one point.

Bournemouth have lost three of their last four games and Parker has demanded a response against Birmingham City in midweek.

“Wednesday night is massive for us. It’s a massive game. It’s an absolute massive game with what’s happened tonight,” Parker said.

“These fans leave this stadium with probably a lot of questions. A lot of doubt. My players and this group need to respond.

“There is only one way to respond. We need to come out on Wednesday night and put a performance in and get a result. That’s the most important thing.

“We only have one competition left now this season and we need to regroup quickly. We need to be relentless in our pursuit of promotion now.

“Sometimes you have to take your medicine. Tonight, we have to take our medicine and I have to take mine and make sure we react and that’s my job between now and Wednesday night.

“We have to react and we have to move now for the rest of the season. Our aim is to get out of this division. And that’s my focus now is the league.”
