Scott McTominay wanted by European giants and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Barcelona are considering a move for Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

A bust-up with Erik ten Hag has threatened to prematurely end the winger’s career at Old Trafford. While speaking at his post-match press conference following the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal a fortnight ago, the United boss cited poor training sessions as the reason why Sancho lacked game time.

The 23-year-old refuted these claims, believing he was being scapegoated by Ten Hag. Sancho has been told to train separately - raising concerns over his Red Devils future. Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that Barcelona could offer him an escape route in January. A loan until the end of the campaign has been rumoured for a player who has failed to justify his £75million price tag at Old Trafford.

Elsewhere, Scott McTominay has emerged as a shock target for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The Bavarian outfit were desperate for a defensive midfielder in the summer and failed while trying to sign Fulham talisman Joao Palhinha. McTominay’s game time will likely be restricted due to Man United signing Sofyan Amrabat on deadline day. Casemiro is also ahead of the 26-year-old while, at centre-back, the Scotland international’s other position, Ten Hag is well covered.

The Mirror are claiming Bayern may swoop for McTominay in January to solve their midfield issue. Both clubs are set to go head-to-head on Wednesday in their Champions League opener.
