Scott McTominay sparks live radio row as bizarre Simon Jordan 'benchwarmer' dig gets fuming Jim White response

Simon Jordan claims Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour will revel in Serie A glory only because they were perennial Premier League bench warmers.

The two Scots are flying high at Napoli and are just three games away from becoming Gods in Naples.

Antonio Conte's side are sitting strong at the top of the table, three points clear of Scudetto rivals Inter Milan.

It would be a phenomenal moment in the careers for both players having escaped to the continent from Manchester United and Brighton.

However, the former Crystal Palace owner will be less than impressed if the pair do cross the line.

On their latest talkSPORT segment, presenter Jim White and pundit Jordan came to blows over how big an achievement it was for Harry Kane to win his maiden title - the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich - before the two Scots were dragged into the conversation.

"The fact he has gone to Germany and played in the dominant team in Germany - of course they should win the league!" said Jordan.

White replied: "I bet you Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay absolutely treasure the Scudetto if they with it with Napoli, which they are on course to do."

Jordan quipped: "I'm sure they do because it is much better than sitting on the bench at Manchester United and Brighton."

White fumed: "It is a massive achievement for both of these lads as it is with Harry."

Jordan concluded: "The fact is is that we have got an Englishman playing in Germany who has had to go over there to win something.

"And I don't know what that tells you."

Napoli look to take one more step to the title when they face Genoa at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Serie A on Sunday.
