Scott McTominay sends message to Manchester United teammates after 3-1 Arsenal defeat

Scott McTominay has claimed Manchester United's final four games of the season are 'about pride'.

United lost 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon and that result comes at end of another awful week at the club. United lost 4-0 to Liverpool on Tuesday and those two defeats have almost certainly condemned United to finish outside the top four.

It has been a joyless season for United. There are four games remaining for the Reds - Chelsea, Brentford, Brighton and Crystal Palace -and McTominay, who was the first player to show his face after the Arsenal loss, claimed they're all 'about pride'.

McTominay have an explosive post-match interview at the Emirates and he challenged his teammates to show more desire.

"The last four games are about pride for us," McTominay told BT Sport.

"Going out on the pitch and showing a bit of b**** with our performances, not shying away from the ball. We've got to finish as best as we possibly can do. When the new coach comes in, we need to be ready for everything.

"We need to concentrate on our jobs and impress him. It's difficult for me when you're playing, I wouldn't like to say [what Ten Hag would think about display] but as I've said, it's about looking at next season in terms of how we can improve.

"The players that we do bring in, how much can they add to the group. For myself, it's about a bit of b**** in our performances man, that's what it comes down to, the fundamentals of football.

"It's difficult for me to speak right now because it's so high emotions after that game and the last two months like that. It comes down to the basics and we're not doing them well enough."
