Scott McTominay has 'big legs and big teeth' that WILL unlock Napoli success amid hardline Antonio Conte stance

It seems like Sod’s Law moving to one of the most famous food regions in the world and then been told to steer clear of the scran.

At least Scott McTominay can still enjoy the Naples scenery – even if he has been ordered to avoid the good stuff like pizza, pasta and ice cream. The Scotland superstar has made an instant impact for Napoli on the pitch following his £25m move from Manchester United. McTominay was a stand out in the Juventus stalemate at the weekend but it turns out boss Antonio Conte has flagged him up on his risk list when it comes to the local grub.

The midfielder has to log everything he munches to the boss can make sure he’s not tucking into anything too tasty. But former Hearts and Juve hero Pasquale Bruno reckons Conte doesn’t need to make a meal out of things with McTominay – as the powerhouse will get stuck into Serie A. Bruno – who is now an agent and TV pundit in his homeland – laughed: “It’s true the food is very good in Naples! They will tell you they have the best pasta, the best pizza and ice cream.

“I know Conte puts a lot of importance on what his players eat. In the past he put Romelu Lukaku on a diet when they were at Inter and he lost about 5kgs. So it doesn’t surprise me to hear he’s telling his new players like McTominay to be careful. I’m not sure it is needed though.

“McTominay is a great professional. You can see it from his experience with Manchester United and Scotland. He is an athlete. I’m not sure it matters too much anyway. It’s about a player’s DNA. When I came to Hearts, no one told me not to eat the Scottish food – I liked it!
