Scott McTominay gives very emotional and brutally honest interview following Arsenal loss

Manchester United‘s season lurched to another new low as they were beaten by Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

With a spot in the promised land of the Champions League still up for grabs, the clash with the Gunners was perhaps the biggest tie of United’s season so far.

Unfortunately, they continued where they left off against Liverpool as a defensive calamity eventually saw Nuno Tavares poke home to give Arsenal the lead in the early exchanges.

The mountain that needed climbing then got all the more menacing as the home side doubled their lead through a Bukayo Saka penalty.

Fortunately, United were able to go into the break with some hope after the returning Cristiano Ronaldo did what he has done best all season by snatching a goal back late in the half.

The Manchester side came out firing in the second stanza as well and, when Bruno Fernandes was presented a glorious opportunity to equalise from the spot, many expected him to step up and keep United’s season alive.

Sadly, he could only hit the outside of the post, watching in agony as the ball drifted harmlessly out of play before Aaron Ramsdale let him have it with a Martin Keown-esque celebration.

It was a welcome boost for Arsenal who, not long after, went up the other end and restored their lead through a Granit Xhaka rocket from outside the box.

It was the killer blow for United, as Arsenal managed the remaining minutes with ease to clinch the three points.
