Scott Carson had everyone laughing by ‘offering Sime Vrsaljko outside’ during tunnel clash

Scott Carson was one of a host of players caught up in the tunnel drama following Wednesday’s heated Champions League quarter-final second leg between Atletico Madrid and Manchester City at the Wanda Metropolitano.

It all kicked off towards the end of the match following Felipe’s dangerous challenge on Phil Foden.

The Brazilian defender was shown a second yellow card by referee Daniel Siebert and a melee ensued between the two sets of players.

Amid the drama, Stefan Savic somehow avoided a red card after appearing to headbutt Raheem Sterling. The same Atletico defender was then involved in an altercation with City substitute Jack Grealish before the clashes continued inside the tunnel after full-time.

Following 11 dramatic minutes of stoppage time, City booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals following a tense 0-0 draw in Madrid.

Atletico sub Sime Vrsaljko was filmed going crazy inside the tunnel. Held back by staff and teammates, the Croatian full-back lost his head and appeared to throw an object towards the City contingent.

It’s also been reported, per The Sun, that he appeared to spit at City’s players.

While the drama unfolded, City’s veteran back-up goalkeeper Carson amused football fans by appearing to offer Vrsaljko outside.

What Carson had done to anger Vrsaljko is unclear but the English ‘keeper certainly seemed to have riled Atletico’s No. 24.
