Scott Brown 'in talks' over Icelandic rebuild job as Celtic hero eyes bold next management step

Icelandic side KR Reykjavík are reportedly in talks with Scott Brown over becoming their next boss.

Brown stepped into management for the first time with Fleetwood Town last year after hanging up his boots following a spell at Aberdeen. However, after a poor start to the campaign in English League One he was axed - despite signing a long-term new deal in the summer. That came off the back of successful debut campaign with the club as he led them away from the relegation zone. Reports now suggest that the Celtic hero is on the radar of fallen giants KR.

The club have lifted the top flight title in Iceland a record 27 times and were the first representatives from the country to represent the nation in the Champions League - but have struggled in recent seasons with their last title victory coming back in 2014. They finished sixth last season and Brown could be the man the club. turn to turn around their fortunes.

Fotbolti claim that KR representatives have "talked to Brown about the possibility of him taking over the reins in Vesturaern." They are said to be considering "various candidates" from across Europe for the top job.
