Scott Brown faces anxious Fleetwood Town wait as owner banged up in jail after being found guilty of fraud

Fleetwood Town owner Andy Pilley has reportedly been remanded in custody in a further cloud over Scott Brown's side.

The Celtic great was back in Glasgow last week for an event with Mikael Lustig at The Hydro but back at the English League One side he manages, there is turmoil brewing. It was reported last week in the Blackpool Gazette that Pilley 'was found guilty of two counts of running a business with the intention of defrauding creditors, one count of false representation and one count of being concerned with the retention of criminal property.'

His sentencing is not until July 3 and he will remain in prison until his trial begins, according to The Athletic. It is claimed that there are 'lots of victims, including charities, worth millions to Pilley & BES' (Pilley's firm). Brown left Celtic in 2021 and after a short stint at Aberdeen, joined Fleetwood last year.

Brown guided them to 13th place in the third tier and a club-record run in the FA Cup. But now uncertainty surrounds the club and their owner.
