Scots endurance racers are quick to get going

THREE leading Scots endurance racers – Jonny Adam, Colin Noble and Finlay Hutchison – have unveiled busy starts to their 2022 campaigns.

Hutchison kicks off his season with German squad Attempto Racing on Friday, competing in the Hankook Dubai 24H – the curtain-raiser to the global endurance racing season.

The 21-year-old Dundonian will partner Alex Aka and Florian Scholze in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO in the event that runs overnight from Friday into Saturday.

Midlothian’s Colin Noble has confirmed he is “very happy” to be returning to action with Nielsen Racing and team-mate Tony Wells.

The outfit has enjoyed considerable success in LMP3 cars – they were Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) champions in 2020 and secured the Le Mans Cup title last year.

And Noble, Adam and Hutchison will all be racing against each other in the ALMS, which will be held in the Middle East for the second year running due to Far East coronavirus travel restrictions.

The four-hour races will begin on Friday, February 11, in Dubai, with round two following the next day. The teams and drivers will then travel to Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi for the third and fourth contests on February 19 and 20.

Noble, 25, said: “It was great to take another championship with Nielsen Racing last year – it was very welcome having come so close to the top step so many times with the team.

“So, I’ll be back in the Asian Le Mans Series, aiming to repeat the success of 2020. I’ll also be in the Le Mans Cup contest again with Tony. I’ve won both of these championships before, so we know we can push for further success together.”

Kirkcaldy’s Adam, 37, is once again part of the TF Sport team that will contest the ALMS in an Aston Martin Vantage GTE. He will follow that up by competing
