Scotland fans have waited 26 years for an away day appearance at a major tournament but it can't merely be about kilts and steins – those who have paid good money deserve to see a side capable of competing against the best in Europe.

The SwIss are annoyingly competent but if Clarke's men can find their true level, we're talking that of when we downed the Danes, sunk Spain and dazzled the Dutch (in the first 40 minutes), then it truly is game on.
