Scotland fans in Ukraine solidarity as punters snap up 25,000 tickets for fundraising clash with Poland

Scottish FA Chief Executive Ian Maxwell has praised the response and generosity of the Tartan Army as they show solidarity with the people of Ukraine with healthy ticket sales.

The fixture has been scheduled for Thursday March 24, the date Scotland were due to play Ukraine in their FIFA World Cup play-off qualifier, before the match was postponed due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

Maxwell added: “Despite only announcing the match on Monday and tickets only having been on sale for three days the Scotland supporters have again shown why we think they are some of the best in the world.

“By backing this wonderful initiative in their droves the Scotland fans are not only supporting Steve and the players in what will be an invaluable opportunity to prepare for competitive games later this year, but also showing solidarity with Ukraine at this difficult time.

“I implore all Scotland
