Scotland 18-17 Wales U-20s: Ill-disciplined visitors slump to Six Nations defeat

Wales under-20s remain winless in this year's Six Nations after being edged out by Scotland at Scotstoun on Friday night.

Rudi Brown's try and Ben Afshar's penalty set the hosts on their way before the break, before Wales hit back through Morgan Morse's touchdown just after the break.

A penalty try put Scotland back in control of the contest, but Wales took the lead thanks to a Dan Edwards penalty and a fine score from Oli Andrew.

But Scotland, who previously hadn't won in this competition for three years, weren't to be denied, and sealed the win when Dan King slotted over a penalty late on. A lack of discipline ultimately proved the catalyst for this defeat, with Wales racking up four yellow cards and conceding 20 penalties over the course of the evening. Afshar then added three points from the tee just after the half hour, and Wales were left seemingly fumbling around for the self-destruct button.

First, Archie Hughes was sent to the bin for not rolling away, before being joined by Dylan Kelleher-Griffiths, who was guilty of a late tackle just yards away from his own goal line as the hosts looked to turn the screw.

But despite their numerical disadvantage, Wales raced out the blocks in the second half, and found themselves back in the game when Morse crashed over.

Morse himself was then sent to the bin a few minutes later for lifting a leg in the maul, an offence that contributed to Scotland being awarded a penalty try
