Schuh website has secret sale section where you can bag Adidas, Dr Martens and Nike for less than half price
There’s nothing nicer than unboxing a fresh pair of trainers or lacing up your new Dr Martens for the first wear. But new shoes are undeniably pretty expensive, particularly for your favourite brands like Adidas and Nike.
And while discount codes are nice and all, sometimes 10 per cent off for signing up to a newsletter for which you’ll go on to receive 10,000 emails and never open a single one, doesn’t really make a dent in the overall price.
But there’s a little known part of footwear retailer Schuh’s site which sees discounted heels, trainers, boots and more reduced to a fraction of the retail price - just because they’re ex-display.

The section of the site can be found under the sale tab under ‘offers’ where you can ‘ shop ex display’. There are currently more than 1,000 pairs of shoes up for grabs at a lower price, just because of a few imperfections.
Schuh said: “Welcome to our ex-display section. The shoes that have suffered from a little too much interest come here to find forever homes. We reckon it's all character building stuff - some products here will have scuffs, discolouration and other individual quirks.”
Ex-display means exactly what it sounds like. These are shoes that have been on display in store, ready for customers to try on and do a quick walk around the shop floor before making a decision on whether to buy them.
As a result, some of these shoes may have a small scuff or a mark here and there. And okay, brand new clean shoes are an absolute delight, but how long is it before the dog runs in from the garden and steps on them, or you trip yourself up and scuff the corner anyway?
