Schools in lockdown after reports of person seen carrying axe
Two schools in one part of Wales were placed in lockdown on Monday morning after reports of a man of a person with an axe in Holyhead.
Numerous police vehicles were seen heading to the Anglesey port town, including armed officers.
Parents of children in primary school reported getting texts saying the schools were in lockdown.
Witnesses reported seeing numerous police vehicles heading to Holyhead.
It is understood the lockdown has been lifted.
North Wales Police said: "We have received unconfirmed reports of a person seen carrying an axe in the Kingsland area of Holyhead. Patrols have since been undertaken in this area, and searches remain ongoing to establish the circumstances of the reports."
