Scarlets put to the sword by ruthless Stormers as they fail to score a single point

The Scarlets were ruthlessly put to the sword by the Stormers as they fell to a heavy 34-0 defeat in Llanelli.

Dwayne Peel's side got outmuscled and failed to compete physically while they didn't fire a single shot in attack.
The Scarlets were ravaged by injuries up-front with the likes of club captain Josh Macleod, second-row Jake Ball and Tongan lock Sam Lousi all missing but this was a worrying performance.

John Dobson's side scored five tries in total courtesy of Evan Roos, Paul de Villiers, Reuben van Heerden, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Imad Khan.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu also contributed seven points from the kicking tee with Damian Willemse adding a further two. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack to get exclusive news stories and insight from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby.

The Scarlets struggled to compete physically in the first-half and conceded a whopping 15 penalties while they shoved backwards at a rate of knots at every scrum.

John Dobson's side opened the scoring when powerful No 8 Roos powered over the line from short-range after a period of pressure from the visitors.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu added the extras and soon after extended the Stormers' lead to 10 points, making amends after missing a couple of penalties.

The Scarlets could not get any sort of foothold in the game and were losing the collisions which meant they were constantly playing on the backfoot.

Peel's side were given a glimmer of hope when Stormers backrower Ben-Jason Dixon got sent to the sin bin for a croc roll but even with a man advantage they found it tough going.

The Scarlets were also forced to play with 14 men when Taine Plumtree was shown a harsh yellow card for reacting to being out without the ball by Roos. Join WalesOnline Rugby's
