Say yellow to the Bee Network as new app launches to make travel even easier
As Greater Manchester prepares to say yellow to the Bee Network this weekend, Transport for Greater Manchester has launched a new Bee Network app and website to make it easier than ever for customers to plan their journey.
The Bee Network is Greater Manchester’s plan for an integrated London-style transport system with simplified, integrated fares which will see bus routes, frequencies and prices set locally for the first time in almost 40 years.
From today, you can download the Bee Network app from the App Store and Google Play to find all the information you need to travel on bus, tram or train across Greater Manchester.
The app provides live departure times for buses, trams and trains, and handy information on the nearest stops and stations to help get you where you need to go. You can also share your travel experiences by using ‘Rate Your Journey’ and the feedback will be used to hold operators to account on behalf of passengers.
A wide range of Metrolink (available from September 18) and Bee AnyBus, Bee AnyBus + Tram and bus tickets (available from September 24) can also be bought via the app, including:
Metrolink travelcards (7-day and 28-day) which could save you money if you travel to work most days and use the tram on weekends
Unlimited travel all day on any bus in Greater Manchester via the Bee AnyBus ticket (£2.50 for children, £5 for adults. Children will need to show their IGO card or alternative proof of age)
Integrated Bee AnyBus + Tram tickets if you use the bus and tram for journeys, which could save you up to 20% off (when compared to the existing AnyBus and Metrolink tickets when bought separately)
