Savannah Marshall will '100 percent beat' Claressa Shields, says Lauren Price

Negotiations are close to being finalised for the highly anticipated title fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall.

The rivalry between the two fighters continues to boil over as the world prepares for what has been hyped as the “biggest female fight out there” by fellow professionals Lauren Price and Karriss Artingstall.

The British duo recently launched their own pro careers, but they are watching the progress of this pending world middleweight title match up closely.

“It’s exciting to have the rivalry,” Artingstall told Sky Sports News. “It doesn’t just happen within the male ranks, it happens with the female [ranks] as well. I can’t wait to see the fight now.

“In my opinion, it’s the biggest female fight out there because of that rivalry and the amateur background they’ve both had; Savannah is the only person to beat Claressa.”

Indeed, while Shields’ professional record is immaculate, Marshall beat her during an amateur bout years ago, which is the only loss the American, who refers to herself as the GWOAT [Greatest Woman of All-Time], has ever conceded.

The ongoing war of words between the two stars has set the tone for what promises to be an incredible stand off when they finally meet inside the ring.

Back in February, Shields beat Slovenia’s Ema Kozin to retain her WBA, WBC, IBF and Ring magazine middleweight titles. Marshall was in attendance and was filmed yawning and pretending to fall asleep while the fight was going on.
