Saudi Coastal Rowing Championships conclude in Jubail

JUBAIL: The Saudi Coastal Rowing Championships concluded on Friday in Jubail with Saudi Arabia’s Sultan Al-Shali emerging victorious in the men’s singles category.

Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the governor of the Eastern Province, attended the event, which was organized by the Saudi Rowing Federation and took place over two days at Darin Beach and saw 47 competitors take part from several Gulf countries.

Ali Husain Alireza, the chairman of the board of the Saudi Rowing Federation, expressed his appreciation to Prince Saud for his support of the championship, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom.

Alireza highlighted the prince’s wider support and interest in sports and athletics, which helps in the move toward achieving the goals of Vision 2030.

The winners were awarded medals by Jubail Governor Mansour Al-Dawood.

In the men's singles race, Al-Shali won the gold medal, followed by Kuwaiti rower Abdulrahman Al-Fadhel taking silver, with Saudi’s Turki Al-Aarif the bronze.

In the men’s under-23 singles category, Saudi’s Mu’ayyad Al-Rasheed won the gold medal, followed by compatriots Hani Bukhari and Mahmoud Numan with silver and bronze respectively.

In the women’s singles, Kuwaiti Soad Al-Faqaan won the gold medal, while the Saudi duo of Faten Mirza and Eman Rafiq collected silver and bronze respectively.

In the women’s under-23s, Salma Moumena won gold, followed by Saudis Noor bin Mahfouz with silver and Asil Mala’ika taking bronze.

In the boys’ singles, Rada’an Al-Dosari claimed gold, Mohammed Al-Abdulqadir silver, and Wael Juaidan the bronze in an all-Saudi podium finish.
