Saudi Arabia gears up for Spain after Uruguay draw

DUBAI: Saudi Arabia began preparations on Wednesday for its second Group H match at the FIFA World Cup 2026 against Spain, with the Green Falcons holding a training session at Q2 Stadium in Austin under the supervision of coach Georgios Donis.
The match against Spain will take place on Sunday as Saudi Arabia looks to build on a hard-fought draw in its opening game of the tournament.
The Green Falcons earned a point after holding Uruguay to a 1-1 draw in Miami on Monday.

Uruguay dominated much of the match but were unable to secure a win.
The result came just hours after one of the tournament’s biggest surprises, with European champions Spain being held to a goalless draw by World Cup debutants Cape Verde.
The opening round of Group H fixtures left the standings finely balanced, with all four teams, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Spain and Cape Verde, level on one point.
Saudi Arabia will be aiming to capitalize when it faces Spain in a match that could prove decisive in the race for a place in the knockout stages.
