It's the first official day of action of the Olympic Games in Paris, with plenty of Irish involvement.

Susie Berry and Austin O'Connor will be out in the same event later.

The Ireland men's hockey team opened their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to defending champions Belgium.

In the pool, Ellen Walshe came sixth in her 100-metre butterfly heat this morning, missing out on a semi-final spot.

Next up for the Irish swimmers is the women's 4-by-100-metre freestyle heats.

Danielle Hill, Victoria Catterson, Erin O’Riordan and Grace Davidson are in action from 11.15am.

Rowers Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle are currently going in heat 3 of the men’s double sculls.

Zoe Hyde and Alison Bergin compete in heat-2 of the women’s double sculls in the next few minutes.

Dublin are looking to reach a first All-Ireland Camogie final since 1986 today.

However, standing in their way are reigning champions Cork in the first of this afternoon’s semi-finals at Nowlan Park.

Galway have been champions three times this century, and take on Tipperary from 3pm.
